The lack of download links on Fibrant Living #1, #2, and #3 are my fault.

I thought that Libsyn’s archive was in perpetuity, but it wasn’t.

Now that they’ve done spring cleaning at Libsyn, Fibrant Living podcast #1, #2, #3 are all gone. I have no backed up copies of these podcasts. My hard drive crash in the summer last year, coupled with Cynthia’s laptop death, means that we as a family don’t have any extant copies of these podcasts.

If you have these, please let me know. Comment here, or send me email at moc.liamgnull@evorgsraeb.

I gave myself a gift today: a headset with my very own microphone for the podcast.

It isn’t as fancy as the one that I was using, which is my partner’s Very Nice (read: intimidating) microphone. That one, though, sits on the desktop on its own stand. I know this sounds pitiful, but I have trouble staying within proper range of it, because my voice is soft. I have to lean over and up from the chair I’m in, and even then I end up feeling as if I’ve had to nearly shout to record a podcast, which takes far more energy than simply speaking normally and is very stressful, to boot!

That removes one of the main barriers to getting podcasts out on a regular basis. The next is that Sam produces the show for me, but he has a full-time job and is much busier than I am outside the home. Do I dare release the show unedited, brain fog effects and all? What do y’all think?

It seems that many of us who suffer from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue are perfectionists. I know that I am.

One of fibromyalgia’s harder lessons has been pacing myself and adjusting to changing (but always lower than before) energy levels and concentration. I know I’m not the only one who isn’t as considerate of myself as I am of others.

I’ve fallen into the perfectionist trap again here, with the podcast. I’ve had a hard time posting unless I feel I have something “important” to say, or to release a new episode of the podcast that isn’t a certain length. I’ve been using things like the length of my partner’s podcast episodes as a standard for myself. We have different abilities and audiences, and his standards aren’t appropriate for me.

Expect an episode soon, in a new format.
